What do I eat / When do I eat / Can I eat ?

So all your friends are ‘dieting’ they wear lorna jane or the newest supplement brand apparel (guys im looking at you)and still manage to go starbucks/bar every Thursday looking tight , toned beach ready and it’s still only winter.

You have joined they local gym, with all the ‘you should’ , ‘you shouldn’t and the ‘ I always do this so should you’ . Going to the gym Is one thing what your doing in for the 23hours between your next gym session another . Knowing what do eat , when to eat and whether you should be eating certain things is another.

Exerting energy requires more fuel hence more meals more often, imagine that you actually can eat more the more you work out.

But here is the thing its what you eat that determines whether all that hard work in the gym will net you that beach bum or beach abs that you’ve worked for the last 3 months.

Understanding your body is essential , knowing what you can tolerate and what your body responds to much like exercise. Having a nutritionist or personal is handy (although there is a wealth of information on eating to live and not eating to look good the difference being longevity , we’re after long term promise not short term gain)

Carbs are essential they are the fuel your body requires to function and transport what you ned where you need it on it demand without carbs you won’t have energy to exert or recover. This is where good carb vs bad carb comes in. Everyone has a minimum calorie count to function everyday a small portion of this will consist of carbs (even for weight loss you will still need to consume carbs hence the reason you exercise)

Protein/Aminos are the building blocks of muscle and help not only build but also repair and maintain muscle (before we go on ladies you can not I repeat can not look like a man from consuming protein or lifting weight if anything you will lose weight and look amazing) Problem is without carbs the body cannot transport these precious nutrients as they do not get stored and are used up quickly and need to be replenished every few hours (one of the main reasons why people have cravings ,feel lethargic and don’t see progress or aren’t recovering well)

Good fats , yes they exist and they aid in losing weight and play a vital role in the breakdown of other foods and protein so essentially they burn bad fat look after your heart and you ! Having a small amount of good fats with each meal will aid in recovery of muscles keep you moving and contribute to losing weight and gaining muscles.

So there you have it a little insight in how vital eating clean is and its not just about that , it is what will keep you healthy on the inside oh and happy on the outside in order for you to have the physique or goal weight you have always desired remember to eat eevery 3-4 hours 4-5 times a day , eating 80% clean and allowing for the indulgent 20% will keep you happy (because looking amazing isn’t fun if you’re not) Eating 2 hours before a workout and within an hour post workout. As always workout atleast 3 times a week and make that time whether its 30 mins or 3 hours count the only level of commitment is total so make it happen !
